Not as I had hoped

This was really more of a maintenance period for me, and I just could not keep on pace with all the travel. The work that I did do however I think kept me in line to get into the Chisel program in decent shape.

I have 6 - 7 straight weeks of low travel, and intend to bang the hammer hard!

Pressing the reboot!

Hi all, it’s been about a month since I finished the Ranger Challenge, which was awesome. Absolutely worth doing if you see it offered. The last 30 days have been filled with beer, pizza, deserts, more beer, more pizza and wine. I followed that with some Mexican food and a lot of rum. Add 40,000 air miles and all the in flight meals that go with it, and his army ranger has lost the ranger look. Time for a reboot. Nutrition. Exercise. And some butt kicking from the Kenzai crowd is what I need to keep me focused on that summer strength I need for the family holiday! Good luck y’all.

Not ultimate but I'm positive.

The last 10 days have been a struggle. Perhaps it's the stress of the end of the quarter (salesguy) or the pressure I put myself under or a bug. Not sure but I've had a headache that's been coming and going and it comes at about KM #5 on my last few runs. So the sad news is that I didn't get my 10K in 60 min yet.

But I did absolutely crush the Custom Fit Tuxedo I wore the other night. Even found myself pulling my pants up.

I've come to find that it's better to look marvelous than to feel marvelous!

With Kenzai Run, I do look marvelous!

Congrats everyone. On to the next one!

Ward. Can you read the future?

After a couple of solid runs I hit a wall on the last one at 3KM.

Picking up my race kit for the pink ribbon 5K run next week. Looking forward to finishing this bad boy off with a bang!

No where to run to!

So I took a long weekend with the family and some friends to a small island 50 KM and a world away from Singapore. There was a strip of beach maybe 100 meters long and the rest of the island was straight up jungle.

But that didn't stop me from getting my cross training on with the following activities over the last 2 days.

10KM walk through dense and muddy jungle, complete with a 10 meter high cliff jump into a waterfall. Yummy!

2 hours of paddleboarding and Surfing

1 hour of Kayaking

20 min of tetherball (I was 5th grade recess runner up by the way, but I dont like to brag...)

10 min of ping pong (beaten by a 6 year old...)

While I did have a few beach beers and a couple glasses of wine, the food was all fish or chicken and lots of veggies.

All in all, it was an 85 - 90 on the Kenzai scale.

but dang did we have a good time!

So this is kind of cool.

My Apple Watch tracks heart rate. On my run this am I did 6 sprints to get up to the 7-8 range and they show on the map. Very cool.

All good here.

Went for an amazing run through Singapore on Sat. The only bad thing was that we decided to do it at 3 pm in the heat of the day. Not my best performance.

9K run soon was pleased with the distance.

Starting the work on the techniques.

Hope to see more of that as I'm curious about the footwork.

10K and Fighting Foo

Ran my first 10K in a long time. Felt pretty good but it was a slow slow run.

Decided to do it on Saturday AM because I knew I would get distracted from all things healthy Saturday night while the Foo Fighters were in town.

What a show! Man Crush does not begin to describe how I feel about Dave Grohl....

Back on it and looking forward to dialing up the speed a little during the runs.

Going to the gym with a friend today. Another first time in a long time.

Hope everyone is enjoying this!

7-8 is the new 4-6

I have been upping the pace over the last two runs. Tuesday run was great. 25 min of 7-8 and then a 15 min slow job home at 4-6. Tried the same today but could not keep the full 25 min at the higher pace.

But I can feel myself in the comfort zone of 4-6 and think I could hold that for a while.

I signed up for a 5K fun run next month for the Pink Ribbon event for B cancer, and will sign up for the Standard Chartered Half Marathon in Nov so I now officially have a destination.

Need to put a 10K in there and the trifecta is complete.

Enjoying it.

Back in the swing

Hi all,

Apologies for the silence. I was in Bali....working......

Stop laughing. I really was working. Meetings all day from 8, finishing at 6 or 7 and then dinners afterwards. I was OK the first couple of days, and then the wheels came off.

2 really nice runs along the beach and through the resorts next to our hotel. Very Very nice.

And then the wheels came off.

But, I had a nice long run yesterday and a great workout today.

Back in the swing and look forward to a great week!

Bali bound

I'm in Bali all this week with 50 of my team members. Work outs and diet will be a challenge.

I did get out for a 90 minute surf and got absolutely pounded by some mountains of water.

Really good workout. I'll call that my cross train for the week!

Felt strong through the session! Kenzai surf??

Took a nice and slow 60 min run on Saturday morning. 7.5K.

Looking forward to seeing how I can extend the distance in the same amount of time, and also how fast I can run the same distance toward the end of this bad boy!

Keep up the pace people!

Done!

Well that was fun! I'm happy I got through the bellz this time with no injuries. Not tha the bells gave me an injury, because last time I ended early because of a back injury from an accident.

I really enjoyed the session although it does feel a little short as I kind of feel like I was just getting into my stride.

Another series done another logo on my belt.

Need to find something to keep me busy for the next three weeks and I can't wait to find what that is.....

Next!!
