KB 2 - Day 52 - all ok, just about

Well, last week was much better than the week before until I picked up a bit of a nasty bug. Everytime I tried to skip on Friday I would end up in a fit of coughing so I just did the strength exercises. Saturday I did pilates, and Sunday I did a 5k walk as I started coughing every time I started to run. Monday I decided not to do anything at all, as I thought probably best to get in to bed with a lemsip. So, I was back on the workouts yesterday and WOW! Very intense. Again, the skipping meant coughing so I just ended up doing strength. Its kind of frustrating as I still have this annoying cough. I have been to the doctors who are advising I just wait until it runs it course.
While I was there I got her to check if I had a post natal abdominal separation (my youngest is almost 4 btw - shows how often I bother to go to the docs - tend to self prescribe instead!). I was hoping I had in some ways to explain why I am so bad at the abdominal excercises now! But nope - all ok with the muscles per se - they are just super weak!
Having a tough time on KB2 this time. The difficult first half has not set up the right tone. So although I am in HK at home and therefore compliant, I feel fidgety, miserable, dissatisfied and out of sorts. Whereas the time has flown in other programmes, I can't believe I am only on Day 52! Urgh!
I had decided NOT to do the indulgence last week as I had such a calamitous week the week before. However, I am now thinking I need to get out of my funk and just go out for dinner with the hubby. Might give me something to look forward to. Thoughts? To indulge or not to indulge in my question.

I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling so unwell Anita, if heavy breathing is causing the coughing then I would avoid this for a few days. Give yourself time to rest and recover, hopefully you'll be back on track soon. Great news about your abs being in good shape, keep hitting the exercises hard and they'll strengthen. One of the reasons we push building a strong foundation from the beginning of the program is as much psychological as it is physical. The lesson today is a good one and explained how resolve and consistent hard work will make you want to close the easy option door and push through the crack. Hhhmm I think for the indulgence you need to do what you feel comfortable. If having a date night with your husband is the break you need to get back on track then I say go for it.

    Heyo!
    I have a different perspective on the indulgence- I say instead of dinner do a fun activity with your husband! That way, you're Kenzai compliant and you've got your break. Kenzai compliant picnics or a movie maybe ?
    This seems to be a narrow crack moment, and when things are sooo bad if you stick to your diet you'll just be stronger for it.
    Keep us updated on what you do and how you feel!

      That cough sounds pretty miserable. Hope you’re feeling healthy again soon.

      It can be tough to strengthen abdominals, especially after pregnancy. Try to keep your core engaged throughout your workout. Even though it will give you some extra burn when you get to the ab work, it will set you up well for pushing those muscles in a healthy strengthening way.

      You are not alone in feeling in a funk in this middle part of the program. Don’t succumb to the valley mentality! Push through and come out with renewed excitement for the final 3rd!

      As for the indulgence - it’s a personal decision. Make it a mindful one. You know yourself best!
