Very happy woman - new rope arrived and skipping is a dream! Sadly all my jiggly bits are not....


Day 32

Frozen hands, frozen feet and frozen face. In Niseko for CNY and bubs is finally going to ski school, so for the first time in 4 years I get to ski with my husband somewhere other than the bunny slopes. I use the term “with” loosely. We go up on the chairlift together and then he waits for me at the bottom. Poor man...


Day 22

My replacement rope hasn’t arrived yet so I have been getting a few scratches. I tried taping up the frayed wires but the tape rips quite easily. Oh well. Patience...

On a brighter note, bubs came into the office to visit me and have lunch. Of course my colleagues all pounced on her trying to give her candy...

Intro

Sorry - didn't read Ward's email properly so am only now putting my intro on my blog:

I am a working mum of 3 and we live in HK at the moment. When I am at home I struggle to go to the bathroom without a little monkey following me let alone exercise. So when I see other working (and travelling) parents juggle work, kids, fit in exercise and are still sane, I am in awe! My right knee is really bothering me and my goal is to have one perfect Kenzai week. Day 10 already so I really have to focus....


Day 10

In Melbourne visiting my mother. My aunt is also visiting her from the US and spends all her time in the kitchen cooking and baking. So hard to say no...


Day 9

Joined a few days late and it has been a slow start to the program and year but I am keen to get back into a healthy and disciplined routine!

So Late 

The last 2 weeks of 2018 and this past week have been a total blur punctuated by travel, crazy work hours and sick kids. While I loved the program, my execution left a lot to be desired. I managed to get sick twice on the program and really struggled to get back into the swing of things. But that was 2018. It's a new year and I need to refocus of health and fitness in 2019. Looking forward to redeeming myself on the next program. Thank you to my team for putting up with me.


Day 37

Husband was trying to help bubs learn her alphabet flash cards last night. She got stuck on the letter T and to help her he hinted that it was something that Mama and Dada drink. Bubs promptly replied “wine”. To which I vehemently protested “not Mama, I am doing Kenzai” but darn it, there’s no fooling a toddler.


Day 31

I had discovered the wonders of rolling a ball under my glutes and lower back as I stretch on the ground - helps to get rid of some of the knots. Why didn’t I do this sooner?


Day 30

Not sure what is going on - muscles and tailbone are so sore. Can't quite bend over to pick anything up. Did I tweak something during a workout? Or is it from sitting all day at work? What do I do now? Heat pack? Massage? Sleep would be nice. Husband has been back for about half a week now and bubs has been coming into our room, first at dawn, then the middle of the night and last night she came in before midnight. She clambers onto the bed, wriggles her way into the middle, makes a little nest for herself, wraps her arms around my neck and then uses my husband's head as a soccer ball. He is clearly thrilled...


Day 21

Did my first workout in a few days this morning. Bubs joined me. I decided to do the plank and the poor love tried it too but couldn’t figure out how to get her gorgeous big toddler belly off the ground. The only way she could do it was to basically do down dog. She was so cute I just had to roll her over and blow raspberries on her yummy squishy belly.


Day 20

Terrible week. Tough days at work. Sick since Wednesday. Felt too awful to exercise for the last 3 days. The body aches are gone but the constant coughing is hurting my head. Feeling very sorry for myself...


Day 12

I pulled on an old pair of bright blue leggings this morning and my orange t-shirt for my workout. The walk down to the playground was fine, as was the first minute of skipping. Then during the second minute, I noticed that my pants weren't quite around my waist any more. The fabric wasn't quite as elastic as it used to be. And as I kept skipping, they kept slipping...down...While they didn't fall down, there was a lot of slippage, and the best solution that I could think of was to tuck my t-shirt into my leggings and pull them up as high as I could i.e. way above the belly button. I am sure I looked like Mr Bean trying to do my yahoo jumps and fakies. It's a good thing I worked out at 5am while it was dark and nobody was around.
