KB3 done .. GRADUATION POST
I have really enjoyed this past 3 months despite the last few weeks being very tough and a battle to get done. My fitness levels are much better and i feel a lot stronger. And again just doing a kenzai program has got me up and going and I cannot wait for my next session. My diet was not as clean as i would like so I have not lost as much weight / inches as i would have hoped. But i feel stronger, fitter and healthier so I am not overly concerned about losing the extra weight! Thanks all for the encouragement and advice.
I had a busy weekend so the diet was not as clean as expected. The positive thing is I can feel the difference if I deviate a lot from healthy eating. My body rebels! Anyway, last week. Keep pushing
I had a great week, strong workouts (combos tough though!!) and very clean eating... but i woke up this morning with a scratchy throat unfortunately. So i slept in ! Hopefully just a temporary setback..
It is nearly holiday season in South Africa so my head is in "get ready for holiday" mode which is a great motivation to get out of bed in the morning. So good week but i need to keep pushing
I started the week extremely well and very focused. 1 month to go is the motivation! But i hit Thursday and felt extremely flat. I remember a lesson a while ago saying this was normal. I tried to push through but did not have a good session. My eating remained clean however. However back to normal today thank goodness... Amazing how the body functions.
After a poor effort last week i worked hard to get going again this week. I have really enjoyed the full body workouts this week and am looking forward to see what next week brings.
Last week was tough unfortunately. i went on a business trip which disrupts my training but more importantly i battle to stay as clean as i would like with my eating. Anyway, that is behind me and i start off the his week extremely focused!
Its been a solid week. But the plateau lesson made sense to me as i feel i am there at the moment. I think i can still get a lot fitter and stronger but my body i telling me a different story. Still a long to go however so i am still going to push hard
I still battle to get more than 5 min skipping done without a 30sec rest .. hopefully by the end of KB3 I will go longer. It is amazing though how jump rope gets your heart pumping
Even though i still feel awkward and probably look awkward (lucky only my dogs see me) i am really enjoying the full body exercises this week .. this was not the case when we started and hopefully by the end of KB3 i will not be able to live with out them!
I am still going well with the exercise but need to tighten up on my diet. The hardest part of the diet is the no alcohol. Not that i drink a lot but a glass of wine every now and then is a real treat . the other big problem is the World Cup rugby is on now so it is very difficult to watch without a cold beer!!
Its been a tough but good week so far. I am feeling my legs and abs in particular which is good i guess given the aim of the KB3 start!
Who are you? Darren Simpson.. Married with a young daughter (the reason I initially signed up for Kenzai !!)
Where are you? I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are heading into Summer so the timing for my early morning training is perfect.
How do you spend your time? When i am not working for an Investment Bank, I love playing golf and have recently started playing a lot more tennis. Most of my free time however is spent with my family.
If you had a magic egg white what is the one thing you would change about Kenzai? I battled to think about anything.
If you were headed to a deserted island...not to be confused with Desert Island...what one book, movie, or album would you bring? i am currently reading a book, Younger for Longer by Duncan Carmichael. I have learnt a great deal about my health and what i need to do in the future.
What stands between you and peak condition? If could be an injury or something else altogether. Age!
It was tough to get going this morning but once i got going it felt really good to be back in training mode. I need the structure of a Kenzai program to get me motivated so i am very happy to get going again
tough month GRADUATION POST
For various reasons this was not my best program. I did however use it as a springboard for getting going again because as i mentioned on an earlier blog , I am targeting KB3 to end the year. So thanks for the help on this short program. I will see you on the blogs later in the year.
