People staaaaay just a little bit longer...

Jackson Browne is too mellow to run to, but was thinking about this song today. Sad this program is ending--I loved it--and wish we all could stay a little longer! I had to do my final run on the treadmill, which wasn't what I was hoping for but exactly what worked. Yesterday we hit 99F in Brooklyn so I skipped the run hoping it would be better today. No dice, so went to gym and knocked it out. Was easier and faster than doing outside but not the proverbial wind in the hair/adventure of open road feeling I was hoping to end on. But even so, this ended on a fantastic note for me. I really just wanted to ease back into something good after a bad year and a half body and head wise. Wasn't sure this would be the trick but the program, the support of all of you guys, and the insights and help from Ward totally got me back to a good place. Still have weight to drop, speed and endurance to improve but I'm loving running again and what more can you ask? Thanks guys! Admire what all of you have done and hope to meet up on the blogs again!

Thanks for all your wonderful comments and insights, Ellie! Yes, I know the Born to Run book well...I have been working with Eric Orton (the running coach the author used to train for his long run) for a number of years now (http://www.runningwitheric.com/). I am sure I will see you on another program in the future...

John that's so cool! No wonder your posts were so meticulous and thoughtful (and helpful to me). I've read about Eric, but now will be on the site. Thanks! Are you doing another program or taking well-deserved rest?

Kudos! You had a goal, and you accomplished it. You are running again and enjoying it. That is a wonderful thing. What is next for you?

@Ted, doing Reach next and then, hopefully, KB2 in September. Are you training for half with Kenzai? Would love to follow your progress if so!

Ellie J! Wooooot. Like a polished Olympian you got out of the gate with a confident stride. You made locking down diets, workouts, and hitting all the community notes look easy. And anyone that's ever hit the pavement or tackled a Kenzai program knows, it ain't easy! I'm glad that Run training has been a part of flipping the script on a previously tough year. Being fit and in control just feels so good. Keep it going. I can't wait to see where it takes you. COMPLETE!
