A belated intro as Week 2 begins!

Hi everyone,

I'm a 43 yo from the Boston-area, but I live in Hong Kong. We moved here 6 months ago and I'm taking a self-imposed sabbatical from work. I have 3 kids (12, 8, 6) and have found my lifestyle here in HK far more active than it was back home. I am taking advantage of our time here to hit the reset button on my life and prioritize my health and fitness.

My goal for Kenzai is to get stronger and build muscle - particularly my upper body and core strength - and to improve my posture. As a tall woman, I have spent too many years slouching and it's time for that to end.

Great job to everyone on a successful Week 1. I look forward to this journey with all of you!

Hello from Singapore!
Hong Kong is a wonderful place to live! It's such an eclectic blend of East and West and there's always something to do. I used to live there and still visit on and off (I have close family still living there) and I always find something new to do, see, or eat when I'm there!

    I corrected my posture and sat more upright as I read your blog. We are so lucky to have you on this program and your goals are definitely achievable. Don't neglect the legs workouts. The hamstrings, glutes, and core are going to set the foundation for improved posture. Also as these large muscles they turn your body into a calorie consuming furnace.

    A reminder for all trainees: make sure to comment on your teammates blogs as often as you can. This is the main way we build community in Kenzai and your efforts will pay off when your teammates are there for you in the tough times!

      My wife and I love Boston. Used to travel there for business. Looking to take my kids (11 & 8) there soon.

      It’s good to hear that your more active there in HK. The jump rope will help a lot with both upper and lower body as well as your core. I know I’m beginning to feel a difference in the little time that I’ve been doing it.

        Thanks for sharing, Jennifer, and welcome to Hong Kong! It is a great place to take a break from work, so much you can do here and I am glad you are making the most of it. Look forward to seeing you standing tall on Day 90--I am jealous of your height!!
