keeping the mojo

Crazy weekend...fun and busy with kid stuff and some exploring of Hong Kong. It’s difficult to eat out on Kenzai...we were at a seafood place so I ordered rice and steamed prawns and scallops. Tried to go easy on the rice and ballpark the carb grams. Should have brought my scale!!
I’m loving the veggie heavy diet. I really enjoy my teammates food posts to get new ideas. I’m stuck in a zucchini noodle salad with peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, parsley, and citrus dressing. It’s great, but I’m in need of something new!
Mostly doing sets of 5 x 500m splits on the erg or 2 miles on the treadmill for cardio. Faithfully doing the pelvic floor stuff and working my way back to jump rope.

I hear you about bringing the scale along! I know one of my buddy actually brought along a scale with him when traveling to measure his food.

Good work here, Jennifer! You can always go with the 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbs and 1/2 vegetable on your plate when you are dining out, although this is hard with Chinese food, especially at the seafood place. Don't worry, one meal will not derail you. Did you see Jay D's dinner? That looked good. Naoko P also has good recipes: https://kenzai.me/naoko/blog

That's great that you are enjoying all the veggies. At this point in the program, many are still having trouble adjusting to all those plants. Maybe reframe being "stuck" with your salad to having a go to meal. Most of us in Kenzai develop 3-4 go to meals that we can prepare in large batches without thinking too much. It makes the food prep and consumption so much easier. But yes, it's good to experiment with food as well. Last night I invented an (almost) kompliant stuffed bell pepper. Also, check out the recipe page. There are some great finds there. One of my favorites is the fish en papillote. It's easy, delicious, and even entertainment worthy.

Also, make sure you don't use oil in that citrus dressing. And share the recipe with us. My veggies could definitely use a tangy pick me up.

Thanks for the encouragement & support everyone! i just ran out of my zucchini noodle salad, but I’ll take a pic next time. i throw in whatever Ive got, but its always 2-3 spiralized zucchini, bunch of cherry/grape tomatoes, red/yellow/orange/green bell peppers, scallion or red onion, pitted kalamata olives, sometimes chopped artichoke hearts, steamed asparagus, fresh cilantro & parsley, with dressing of juice of 1 orange, 1-2 limes, and a generous sprinkling of black pepper.

Keep up the kegels. I was really having trouble with the jumping in the beginning, but 200 kegels every day (I do them on the bus on the way to dragon boating ;-) ) fixed my problem completely. That said, your alternative cardio sounds like it works well too.
