Day 6. Is Quinoa carbs or protein or both?

I'm guessing that it should count as carbs??

Excited about planning recipes for coming week! Will have to get up an hour earlier before work to fit in cooking breakfast (I'm usually a coffee and hard boiled eggs person which takes 5 min) and lunch, as well as doing the workout

Today is good on the activities front: morning yoga and then did my Day 6 workout. Otter kicks still hard but overall can get through the exercise pretty quickly.

Off to my godson's birthday party now....will abstain from cake!

Good on ya for abstaining from the cake. Cake, but more so the ice cream with it is my weakness in life.

I eat a lot of Quinoa and I consider it a carb as the brand I buy has 30g per serving to 5g of protein, and I think it's supposed to be a "super grain" which makes me think it's a carb. (FYI, this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt...but not literally) . Have a great weekend!

    Enjoy your godson's birthday party! And you can still have your cake and eat it - 3/4 of a slice! :)

    Quinoa counts as carbs, and the weighing takes place after it's been cooked. Some people prepare a few day's worth of food before the week starts so that you do not have a super busy morning cooking breakfast, prepping lunch and working out! The choice is yours, but the most important thing Karen, is that you are giving this thought and planning ahead! Off to a wonderful start on the real diet! Well done!

        Enjoy those quinoa carbs! One of my favorite options.
