Kathleen C.'s Kenzai Sculpt program, Sculpt | Aug 5 2019, starts in 19 days.
I’ve appreciated this two week hiatus. Got in a few workouts but have not worked to the max. I’ve had massive carb loading as I’ve indulged in a lot of hot cross buns (and butter). Post Easter is perfect time to bring that to a halt.
Interesting lesson today. Not exactly sure how one recognizes a gap without thinking but I assume the thinking comes after. Sweat and trembling without a muscle burn.
This morning was the first morning I found myself sleepy while meditating ( if I can call it that). A very different thought chain experience and a clear message that I need an early night.
Moving into uncharted territory in Mind, but metacognition is a big part of what I emphasize with teachers. It will be interesting to try to mesh new context with old as well as see how each enriches the other.
Today I tried a new location. Despite that eyes open still was horrible. This is a steep slope.
On a positive note I used the mantra ‘cut the chain’ in time with breathing and it worked well. The little successes really matter, don’t they?
I chose to do the Mind exercises on day 8. I find them varied and short which helps. However, my Viking longboat was barely a rowboat and a leaky one at that.
Focusing on breathing helps but since there wasn’t an earworm I’m not sure if it breath focus will stop one. We will see.
As for exercise, I need to try more variety. I should embrace this freedom but find it hard to do.

Today was sobering. I enjoyed the workout (all done at once) but I felt stiffness in those twists and turns. Probably a sign I’ve been working hard but oh I feel so not limber.
I read this article today. It practically advertises Kenzai Reach.
I was reminded how important balance for flexibility (and vice versa). I wanted to gently rest my hand while moving my leg to the side. I wonder if it is a left over from Sculpt.
Gentle cardio - check, and I plan a nature walk later too.
Belfie - nope. I did not sign up for Sculpt to sculpt my booty, so I can pass on this one. I am clearly out of step with the current booty craze and that is fine with me.

I bought my first cherries of the summer today. I did so with some trepidation as it is early and my favourites (from Washington) are not yet available. However, I quickly discovered the importance of AMAYW fruit options. One would not want to pit and then weigh cherries. That would spoil the pleasure somewhat. Instead I just savoured some.
(They were good too)
My husband and I enjoyed an evening with an old family friend and some of her family last night. It was very pleasant but I joined the ranks of those Kenzai-ites who did a lot of “no thank you, I’m good.” (Not always heard by this lovely Italian grandma) Surprisingly Kompliant except not enough veg and the veg - a salad - was lightly dressed. It was the macaroni and cheese with truffles I had to really resist (who knew Mac cheese could be so fancied up )
