Day 20 - Chest Dip

Is there an alternative workout to Chest Dip? I don’t seem to get this right or maybe I am just (still) heavy, I can’t bring myself to do the reps properly without putting my feet down on the floor with every count. 4 sets is a bit agressive to start with, don’t you think? I can only do 5 reps in each set.

Rouella I've never been able to do the prescribed chest dip. I try to touch the top if my foot as lightly on the floor as I can while doing this exercise. This gets heavier with each set. I still get a good workout and I'm hoping one day I will be able to do one properly. If you really want an alternative let me know and I can send one through email :)

    I cheat and use the gym's chest dip machine, which provides enough weight to help me through with the movement. And gradually I reduce the machine's weights as my chest muscles become stronger.

        I find these super tricky too Rouella- I just try and have as little weight through my toes on the floor as possible, and grade it like that- but as the reps and sets go by, the assistance does increase a little as my chest muscles start to fatigue, but try to keep the form as clean as I can. Think that’s the only way I can do them if I’m honest!!!

            Chest dips are super intense... I keep thinking I’m going to snap the chair 😬!! If you can, try and stick with them because you’ll feel them the next day

              I have always struggled with the chest dips as well. On KB1 I was given two options for alternatives. I do these things caled Deep Dip Push-Ups where you put your palms on the seat of the chairs and do a deep standing lean push-up. It is pretty horrible but gets close to what we are supposed to get out of the Chest Dips. And yes, four sets is not only aggressive but rude ;-)
