K Iron GRADUATION POST
By far the toughest Kenzai programme I have ever completed... can’t wait to give it another bash. I have not finished how I wanted to, but I have been introduced to a new way of working out that I so enjoy regardless of how difficult I find it.
The end is so close, I am seriously tired but getting on with it. The end of the program coincides with the start of my vacation so I am living for next weekend. Hope everyone is hanging in there.
I am so tired. The workouts have me flattened by a Thursday and I am wondering if I am working too hard. I am feeling like I can’t get on top of this particular program, the workouts never get easier and I often feel like I need a rest day where I don’t do anything.
That being said, I realize that it’s a long term game with these workouts and I am stubborn as hell and won’t give up. Will get through the program and perhaps start again a little lighter and build from there.
The last 10 days have been the stuff of nightmares. A week from hell at work working some revoltingly long hours, 2 sick children with out of control fevers, a day in bed myself having caught whatever virus the kids brought home and finally a massive and unexpected celebration this weekend with the Springboks winning the Rugby World Cup. It has been insane!
I am back on track but have decided to go back to week 7. I am not feeling strong enough to skip a week and looking at week 9 I think I made the right decision. After 10 days off I am sore after the weeks first workouts and hungry as the diets is back on track.
Sorry to have let the team down but that’s life I suppose. See you all on the blogs.
Life has been crazy busy and I feel like I have double the balls in the air than usual. I have ticked all the other boxes bar a few missed meals. Workouts are still tough, but starting to see some small changes.
Back in the land of the living- food prepped and workouts done. I must say that so far this is the most difficult Kenzai program I have done. I realize that lifting heavy things does not feel natural in any way 😂
Monday’s workout left me feeling a little ill, I may have overdone the weight increase but I haven’t felt like i have been progressing. I managed all the reps on Monday but it was rough.
Hope everyone is hanging in there.
Sorry to team Denim, I have been a terrible team mate this week. Life has thrown many curveballs but I am happy to say I am still on track. Getting workouts, grams and lessons in, just not getting to the blogs. Things should settle down by the end of the week.
I really enjoyed the workout and know that I will be sore tomorrow. I am still a little unsure of what weights I should be using and if my form is correct as I am training by myself. This leaves me thinking that maybe I need to enlist some help for a a few workouts... giving it some thought.
I skipped my workouts over the weekend but made up for it while spring cleaning our house. Two full days of lifting heavy boxes and furniture had me wrecked by Sunday evening. The great news is I am sleeping like a baby.
Diet is still on track, have prepped meals for the next few day and am feeling very organised.
Happy to report that I have regained the ability to walk after the effects of Monday’s leg day and the rest of my body aches a little less today.
I am mildly concerned about the comments like “Just wait for next week!” What the hell does week 3 have in store? Should I be scared?
Grams and lessons on point.
I decided to go a little heavier on the squats and lunges on Monday mostly because the gym was so busy I had to make do with what I had. Afterwards I thought I would definitely feel it by Wednesday, and I was not wrong! I can barely move today.
Other than that all is going well, diet on track and lessons read.
Apologies, I am a little late to the party. My name is Sam and I live in Johannesburg. I decided to try out Iron because I have always enjoyed weight based workouts but find venturing into “that” part of my gym very intimidating.
For me, I have always placed emphasis on fat loss, but I expect that I will be surprised by what changing that focus to gaining muscle might bring. For me the the definition of success will be an increase in lean muscle.
I love to read and the escapism of being completely consumed by a great book is the ultimate relaxation. I unfortunately don’t read as much as I would like, and I definitely don’t start a new book when I am training. It becomes such a procrastination tool.
I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone over the coming weeks.
KB3.2 Complete GRADUATION POST
Another kind of KB3 complete and as always I am so happy with what I have been able to achieve.
Thanks to the team for all support and fantastic results!
As we are nearing the end and my summer holiday approaches, I am really putting everything into losing as much fat as possible. I leave for my holiday 2 weeks after the programme finishes so I am thinking I will do the last two weeks again. I am also trying to get in at least 30 mins of extra cardio a day.
On the diet front all is good, I am eating so much but find myself perpetually hungry.
Looking forward to a really strong finish.
A couple of blog reminders reminding me that it’s been 10 days since I last posted. I am not sure where the time has gone. I am probably working at about 70% at the moment, life is super busy and I am just getting as much done as I can. Up early tomorrow to get my workout done and prep food.
