Shout out to Ward, Hugh, Tuck, Kate, Oakley Blades, and my Kenzai Dojo Blog Wrap for motivating me throughout this Kenzai session. I am feeling good about the program and better about myself after dropping a solid 20lbs during the program. Moreover, it feels good knowing that I trimmed the waistline in a healthy way without ever feeling hungry and without any significant cravings. I look forward to spending some more time out on the trails, a little more time on my bike to switch it up, and trying to keep the healthy vibe alive! Be well, Y'all!


The Gaahden

Last night I counted the number of people drinking water at game 7 of the Celtics-Wizards series. There was one.

Anyhoo, great game, and it was actually pretty fun witnessing it unfold in day 15 of sobriety.

My body feels good. I felt rather sluggish on my run this afternoon, but that might have been because it was 80 degrees and I only got 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Early to bed tonight and back at it with a strength workout in the AM. Can we do dis? Yes, we can.


Gonna Get My B-Ball On

Cross-training day, and I'm gonna get my b-ball on with the Hugh Dawg. To all the ballers out there who think they can take us in a 30 minute 2 v 2 scrimmage, we'll see you at the courts at 11:30 sharp. It's on at the Shore Country Day School Yard. Do you want to start some static? Can you come correct? My Reebok Pumps think not.


7 for 7

Made it through the first week without a problem. It was a big week with a lot of post-work events, etc...high stress, but the exercise helped keep me balanced and feeling good as did watching what I threw down my pie hole.

I was unaware I was signing up for no alcohol for 50+ days. That will only be difficult when I am at large, social gatherings in the evenings because I have Hopnophobia (fear of no hoppy beer when faced with large crowds). It's hereditary on my mom's side (she's Belgian), but alas, I digress.

Full disclosure: I have cheated a bit on some of the runs because I started training for a 10 mile run a few weeks ago. I haven't added too much mileage, but I have done a little more than the prescribed amount, especially trying to get a slightly longer run in on the weekends. Let me know if I will be shunned or shamed for such behavior.

Ward, not sure how I should communicate with you directly, but I think the photo should be up now. I thought I already put up a front, 3/4, and profile shot, so hopefully those are swimming around cyber space for all to enjoy. I put my shot up for the Kenzai Community. If I put them as "public," what does that mean?

Day 4 Check In

Nice to have Ward cracking the whip on this two man wolf pack. I live on a big hill at the top of a golf course, and today I ran up and down the hill for twenty minutes. It was harder on the way up.
