IRON D66 - Knowing when it's just enough

Ever had one of those days where you have gone too heavy on Biceps and end up walking around with T-Rex arms? Yeah me too. I am starting to get a better understanding of how hard to push on the weights, without screwing myself up completely.
Legs for example. Quite funny. I got hold of an olympic bar, so can now do quite a lot of the exercises without going to the gym. When it came to legs (no squat rack at home) I realised that I have to do extra just to get the bar on my shoulders.
Beginning of set = Bicep curl, then military press, then gently lower to the back of neck.
End of set = all the above in reverse.
I swore a lot.
But the above meant that I could not go as heavy as I would in the gym. Result - nice soreness in the legs, but not so much that I was doing a Manjit and his John Wayne impression.
By the way - those chest plates squeeze things - burn like a bitch at the end eh!
