Nothing major to report from me, all going well. Diet on point, and I have been testing out a new food prep gadget. The Instant Pot. There does seem to be a bit of a "culty" following around these things, but I must say - it's bloody useful!
Basically I have been throwing in 10 chicken breasts, one to one and a half cups of water, with some chilli powder and letting the thing cook. It takes 15 mins to cook 10 breasts from frozen! So on a weekend, you can fire and forget basically.
Right now my Kenzai prep superweapons are:-

Instant Pot - protein prepper extraordinaire!
Multi Layer Steamer - Kenzai would be a pain in the arse without it
Food Saver Vacuum - also useful for keeping avocados at the perfect ripeness for MUCH longer

With these, I can prep like a demon!

Didn't know food saver vacuum trick for perfectly ripe avocados - going to order one right away! Do you freeze the avacados or refrigeration works?
My superweapons are a good old convection oven and a bamboo steamer.

    I've been thinking about getting an instant pot for ages but right now, my superweapon is an air fryer. Love making my veggies in there esp sweet potato and carrot fries.

      Insta pot = egg white heaven

      I still use my old steamer for veg at night [red cabbage, potatoe, some onion, brussel sprouts - 10 minutes Boom full and satisfied pepper J

        I hesitated on the instant pot for a long time, but found I use it at least a couple of times a week. My favorite is to throw in frozen chicken breasts with a jar of Trader Joe's salsa verde. Shredded chicken taco meat in no time.

        I usually bulk sauté whatever veggies I have on hand ... lots of cruciferous veg. And bake sweet potatoes. Love the carrot fries idea, will have to try.

        My biggest problem (which I had Monday) is that my hubby tends to walk off with whatever I had bulk cooked. Then I open the fridge and whatever I thought was there for dinner is gone! Apparently he had 3 chicken breasts for lunch. He grabbed the entire container instead of opening and pulling out one! He's a big guy ... but that's a lot of protein for anyone :)

              No room for gadgets in our kitchen...the most used items are the frying pan, cookie sheets for roasting veg and the steamer insert for the stove. Plus good knives for chopping!

                  @Tahera - yes! Just put in fridge and it keeps them at the "perfect" state for a number of days.
                  @Patsy - Air Fryer! Mmm. I have heard good things about those.
                  @Watson - Yes! You can make loads of eggs in them. Steamers are invaluable!
                  @Victoria - Hahaha! Sounds like you need a lock on that fridge!
                  @Silvia - So I can prep a few things at the same time, like protein and veggies. I don't like super soft veggies that are all mushy.
                  @Jack - A good investment!
                  @Janet - You can't beat a good knife, and you are living in the perfect place to make sure you have lots on hand!

                    Instant Pot and Steamer look flash but like Janet, we have limited counter space. I may lobby for insta pot though, maybe sit it next to my PC or on the ironing board.
