Day 41 - Back in the Saddle

  • Feb 24th, 2012 at 4:34PM

After a short hiatus, I'm back.  My right knee has decided that pistol squats are not going to be in the program, ever.  I have to admit it was discouraging sitting out a few days and I thought of giving up on PCP completely, but today I was able to do half squats as a substitute for the legs (60 reps total), and do the rest of the exercises without any frustrations.  Felt good, in fact, to bang out a few extra pushups, and I did 2x sets of plank on top of the abs workout just to let my body know we were back in the game.

Pictures going up Saturday.

Hey Vince,

Glad to see you're back!

I was gonna say in your last post you're in great shape, would never have imagined you're 52! I'd say 47?!

Take care of that knee. We still have some time before Day 90, so I'm sure you'll find what works for you.

Have a great weekend and take care!

It's tough physically and emotionally when you find you can't do a certain exercise.  From what we've talked about, I know PCP is much more then just a sweet day 90 photo (but you'll get that too), way to stick with it and find what is going to work best for your body.  Substituting with squats is a good choice if you can't do pistol squats.  Don't get down on yourself, you're finding ways to succeed when things are challenging, and making significant changes in health.
